William Browder

William Browder – CEO Hermitage Capital Management, Head of the Global Magnitsky Justice Campaign and Author of Red Notice and Freezing Order.

Bill was once the largest foreign portfolio investor in Russia until being decalred “a threat to national security” in 2005 for exposing corruption in Russian state-owned companies.

In 2008, Mr. Browder’s lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, uncovered a massive fraud committed by Russian government officials stealing US $230 million of state taxes and was subsequently arrested, imprisoned without trial and systematically tortured.

Sergei Magnitsky died in prison on November 16, 2009. Ever since, Bill Browder has led the global Magnitsky campaign for governments around the world to impose targeted visa bans and asset freezes on human rights abusers and highly corrupt officials, introducing the passage of the Sergei Magnitsky Accountability Act in 2012, & the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act 2016. Which has since been adopted by 11 countries, including USA, UK, Canada and New Zealand.

Community Leadership Award

Lenna Koszarny is Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Capital, the leading private equity firm in Ukraine with over $1.5 billion in assets under management, backed by over 40 institutional investors with a capital base exceeding $570 billion. Under her leadership, Horizon Capital was honored as 2021 Firm of the Year for Central and Eastern Europe, by Private Equity International, with 90,000 votes cast. Lenna is also Executive Vice-President of Western NIS Enterprise Fund, a $285 million US-government backed fund; Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine with over $50 billion invested in Ukraine; a Member of the Advisory Board of the Ukrainian World Congress and Chair of the UWC Economic Prosperity and Investment Committee. She is also a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Startup Fund launched by the Government of Ukraine; and, served as the first Vice-Chair of the Advisory Council of Kyiv-Mohyla Business School.

On August 24, 2020, the 29th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Ms. Koszarny with an Order of Merit for Service to Ukraine, third level, for her significant contribution to the country’s economy and investment climate. She is also a recipient of a Commemorative Medal issued on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Independence by the President of Ukraine.

Under Ms. Koszarny’s leadership, Horizon Capital is committed to promoting gender equality in the alternative assets industry, inspiring greater investment sector engagement by women throughout their region. In July 2022, Ms. Koszarny was recognized in Private Equity International’s 2022 Women of Influence in Private Markets list, one of only 10 women selected in the private equity category.

Multi-award-winning, Platinum-selling artist Matt Dusk has been enthralling audiences around the world for years, leaving in his wake a series of radio hits, acclaimed albums, and a loyal fan base that continues to grow with every passing year.

He has had three number one radio hits: All About Me, Back in Town and Good News, is an alumnus of the St. Michael’s Choir School and studied under jazz piano legend Oscar Peterson at York University.

Chantal Kreviazuk

Chantal Kreviazuk is a platinum-selling, Grammy and three-time Juno Award-winning artist from Winnipeg. In 2016, she returned with her sixth album “Hard Sail.” While raising her three sons with husband Raine Maida, she also spent time on her other musical passion, crafting songs. Chantal has written for Drake, Pitbull, Kendrick Lamar, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Josh Groban and countless others. A holiday album – “Christmas Is A Way Of Life, My Dear” – followed in 2019, and a brand new album “Get To You” was released in the summer of 2020.

In 2014, Chantal and Raine became members of the Order of Canada, recognizing their efforts to raise awareness and support for numerous causes including human and animal rights, mental health, education and the environment. Chantal has been an ambassador to War Child for over two decades and one of the organization’s founding artists. Raine and Chantal recently released their first collaborative album together as MOON VS SUN, “I’m Going to Break Your Heart,” as well as an accompanying documentary.

The Tryzub Awards were created by The Myhal Family Foundation who saw a need to unify our community across Canada to celebrate the accomplishments of those who have achieved success in their chosen fields, have worked in support of Ukraine, Ukrainian causes, the Ukrainian-Canadian community and Canada overall.

With support and partnership from The Shevchenko Foundation, we have aspired to reach the entire Ukrainian-Canadian diaspora to celebrate our recipients and through The Shevchenko Foundation, use the raised funds to support numerous causes that reflect the daily lives and interests of Canadian Ukrainians.
